Over 4,000 outlaws arrested in Pakistan's capital in 4 months

ISLAMABAD, May 6 (Xinhua) -- Police have arrested over 4,000 criminals during separate raids in Pakistan's capital Islamabad during the past four months, local media reported Monday.

The federal capital's police also recovered valuables worth more than 281 million rupees (about 1.9 million U.S. dollars) including jewelry, cash and vehicles from the outlaws, local newspaper the Nation quoted a spokesperson of Islamabad police as saying.

The arrests were made during investigations of 158 cases of robbery, 182 cases of street crime and theft, 117 cases of car tampering and theft, the spokesperson said, adding that criminals involved in 631 cases of murder, attempt to murder, robbery and other crimes were also detained by the police.

The spokesperson said the criminals arrested during the past few months of the year will have to face action as per law.
