LUSAKA, May 8 (Xinhua) -- Zambia and Turkey have waived visa requirements for diplomatic passport holders with effect from May 2, 2019, a government official said on Wednesday.
The move comes after completion of internal requirements and procedures by the two governments under the framework of the agreement on mutual abolition of visas for holders of diplomatic passports signed in July last year.
Joseph Chilengi, Zambia's Ambassador to Turkey said the visa-free regime for diplomatic passport holders between the two countries marks yet another milestone in the existing warm relations between the two countries.
He further expressed confidence that the move will help increase interaction between the peoples of the two countries and strengthen bilateral relations, adding that this was a sign that the memorandum of understandings signed between the two countries last year were now bearing fruits.
