NEW YORK, May 8 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks opened slightly lower on Wednesday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 5.26 points, or 0.02 percent, to 25,959.83. The S&P 500 fell 5.31 points, or 0.18 percent, to 2,878.74. The Nasdaq Composite Index decreased 14.94 points, or 0.19 percent, to 7,948.81.
Ten of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors traded lower around Wednesday's opening, with the financials sector down around 0.23 percent, leading the losers.
Shares of TripAdvisor tumbled over 12 percent, after the travel review platform reported first-quarter revenue that missed market expectations.
U.S. stocks ended sharply lower on Tuesday, with the Dow diving 473.39 points, or 1.79 percent to 25,965.09. Enditem
