SHENZHEN, May 13 (Xinhua) -- The 2019 table tennis China Open will be held from May 28 to June 2 at the Bao'an stadium in China's southern coastal city of Shenzhen. Rio Olympic champion Ma Long and German star Timo Boll are expected to join the competition.
Besides, world top-ranked Fan Zhendong, best pen-hold player Xu Xin, Chinese women team captain Ding Ning, Brazilian paddler Hugo Calderano, Japan's Jun Mizutani and other 200-odd players from nearly 40 countries and regions, including China, Japan, South Korea, Sweden, Germany and Brazil, will meet at Shenzhen.
As a platinum event on the ITTF World Tour, the 2019 China Open consists of five events - men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles. The total prize money of the event stands at 400,000 U.S. dollars, with the singles champion achieving 2250 ITTF World Tour ranking points.
