JAKARTA, May 16 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian tennis players are looking to secure two gold medals in the forthcoming SEA Games 2019 later this year in the Philippines, the Indonesian Tennis Association said here.
The gold medals can be potentially obtained from mixed doubles and women's doubles, the chairman of the association Rildo Ananta told the press.
The target was set up based on the country's achievements in the SEA Games 2017 in Malaysia, during which the athletes secured one gold medal and one silver medal.
To boost the athletes' skill, the association will hold a training camp starting on May 20 in the country's capital of Jakarta. A total of 20 players, ten male and ten female, will take part in the training camp, according to deputy chairman of the association Sutikno Muliadi.
Among the players are mixed doubles pair Christopher Benjamin Rungka and Aldila Sutjadi, who secured a gold medal in the late 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia.
The athletes will take part in the upcoming Davis Cup slated to be played from September 14 to 15 in the provincial capital of South Sumatra, Palembang.
The 30th biennial regional multi-sport event is scheduled to be held in the Philippines from November 30-December 11.
