WASHINGTON, May 16 (Xinhua) -- The Golden State Warriors announced on Thursday that their star Kevin Durant would not travel to Portland for Game 3 and 4 of the Western Conference Finals, as the superstar is continuing his recovery from an injury to his right calf.
The team said that Durant has shown "good progress," but he isn't yet "ready to advance to on-court work."
Durant has missed Golden State's last three playoff games -- Game 6 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Houston Rockets and Game 1 and 2 of the Western Conference Finals against the Portland Trail Blazers.
He suffered the right calf strain in the third quarter of Game 5 against Houston one week ago.
Despite his absence, the Warriors still beat Houston to advance into the Western Conference Finals and then defeated Blazers in the first two games for a 2-0 lead.
Durant is averaging 34.2 points on 51.3 percent shooting in this season's playoff games.
