SYDNEY, May 19 (Xinhua) -- A 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck 178 km east of Tadine in waters off New Caledonia in South Pacific on Sunday, according to U.S. Geological Survey.
The earthquake which occurred at 11:23 a.m. local time (0123 GMT) was initially determined to be at 21.700 degrees south latitude and 169.600 degrees east longitude at a depth of 14 km.
No tsunami warning has been issued at this time.
