ROME, May 20 (Xinhua) -- Thanks to her victory in Rome, Czech Karolina Pliskova climbed up to the world No. 2 in the latest women's tennis rankings.
Naomi Osaka of Japan retained her top place in the rankings with 6,486 points, followed by Karolina Pliskova (5,685) who won her second title of the clay court season, and Simona Halep of Romania (5,533).
After the Italian Open, American's Serena Williams returned the top 10 in WTA rankings.
