BRATISLAVA, May 21 (Xinhua) -- Latvia took the initiative in their final Group B duel with four straight goals and prevailed 4-1 against Norway in the battle for fifth position at the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship here on Tuesday.

Tobias Lindstrom's opening powerplay goal meant little in the long run as Latvia mounted a four-goal comeback to definitively take fifth spot in Group B.

Miks Indrasis tied the game on a man advantage in the second and Latvia sealed the deal with three goals in the third.

Janis Jaks' shot bounced off a defender into Henrik Haukeland's net, Rihard Marenis scored on a breakaway one minute later and Ronald Kenins set the final score to 4-1 with a rebound from behind the goal.

Both teams ended their world championship journey in the round robin stage as they didn't qualify for the quarterfinals and will be coming next year to Switzerland for the 2020 tournament.

Latvia will co-host the 2021 world championship.
