BEIJING, May 22 (Xinhua) -- Completely and effectively implementing the nuclear agreement is the only realistic and effective way to resolve the Iran nuclear issue, a Foreign Ministry spokesperson said Wednesday.
Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday had a phone conversation with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron to discuss the situation in Iran and they stressed the importance of the Iran nuclear agreement.
In response, spokesperson Lu Kang said all parties related to the Iran nuclear deal had maintained close communication and consultation for some time, and all stressed firm commitment to safeguard and implement the agreement.
Ensuring the complete and effective implementation of the Iran nuclear agreement is not only a requirement of the UN Security Council resolution, but also the only realistic and effective way to ease tension and solve the Iran nuclear issue, Lu said.
"China will work with relevant parties to continue making efforts for that goal and meanwhile firmly safeguard its legitimate rights and interests," he said.
