BEIJING, May 24 (Xinhua) -- Spirited Away, the 2001 Japanese animated film written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki, will debut on Chinese mainland big screen on June 21, the film's official Weibo account has announced.
The Oscar-winning film tells the story of a girl's adventure in the spirit realm and her struggle to save her parents.
On Douban, a major Chinese film rating website, the film scores 9.3 out of 10 points, with about 70 percent of its one million viewers giving a five-star review. It ranked the seventh on the website's top 250 film list.
Hayao Miyazaki's My Neighbour Totoro hit the Chinese screens in December 2018 and grossed over 173 million yuan (about 25 million U.S. dollars) at the Chinese mainland box office.
