German drama "Die Odyssee" to be staged in Beijing

BEIJING, May 27 (Xinhua) -- Audiences in Beijing will have the chance to enjoy the classic German play "Die Odyssee" on June 18 and 19.

The drama will be performed by the Thalia Theater at the Beijing Tianqiao Performing Arts Center in German with Chinese and English subtitles.

This production of "Die Odyssee" is a new rendition based on the character Odysseus, a hero of ancient Greek mythology, and his two sons, Telemachus and Telegonus.

It focuses on the stories of the two sons waiting for the return of their father who went to fight in the Trojan War.
