SYDNEY, May 28 (Xinhua) -- The Australian dollar eased slightly against the greenback on Tuesday, but remains above the 69 U.S. cent mark.
At 07:00 (AEST) the Australian dollar was buying 69.19 U.S. cents, down from 69.33 U.S. cents on Monday.
The Aussie fell slightly overnight, mostly due to comments by U.S. President Donald Trump that suggested a further increase of tariffs on Chinese goods.
"AUD/USD eased modestly in thin overnight trade as the USD firmed on U.S. President Trump's comments," Commonwealth Bank chief currency strategist Richard Grace said.
At 09:30 (AEST), the local unit was buying 69.19 U.S. cents.
