RAMALLAH, May 28 (Xinhua) -- Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Ishtaye on Tuesday called on Britain to implement its parliament's recognition of the Palestinian state on the ground.
British move "will be so important in light of Israel's intention to annex parts of the West Bank," Ishtaye said in a press statement issued after meeting with a British parliamentary delegation held at his office in Ramallah.
He also urged Britain to send a technical team to Palestine to investigate the Israeli deduction of Palestinian tax revenue dues.
The Palestinians want an end of the Israeli military occupation of the Palestinian territories which started in June 1967 and to establish an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
