Israel to open first direct flight route to Japan in 2020

JERUSALEM, May 29 (Xinhua) -- El Al, Israel's leading airline, announced on Wednesday that it will open the first direct flight route between Israel and Japan in March 2020.

The new route will include three weekly flights between Israel's Ben Gurion Airport near the coastal city of Tel Aviv and Narita Airport near Japan's Tokyo.

The flights will take 11 hours and 15 minutes from Tel Aviv to Tokyo and 12.5 hours in the opposite direction.
