Malaysian minister asks developed countries to stop sending waste to Malaysia

Developed countries must review their management of plastic waste and stop sending such material to developing countries, Minister of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change Yeo Bee Yin said on Tuesday. In a press conference following the inspection of several shipping containers with plastic and other waste at Port Klang, the country's largest port, Yeo said the government would ship back the waste to the source countries which include the United States, Saudi Arabia, Canada and Japan.
