OSLO, May 29 (Xinhua) -- Norway said on Wednesday that representatives from the Venezuelan government and the opposition had shown willingness to seek a solution during their second round of talks this week in Oslo.
"The parties have demonstrated their willingness to move forward in the search for an agreed-upon and constitutional solution for the country, which includes political, economic and electoral matters," the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
In order to preserve a process that can lead to results, the parties are requested to show their utmost caution in their comments and statements regarding the process, it said.
"Norway reiterates its recognition of the parties' efforts," Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ine Eriksen Soreide was quoted as saying.
The Norwegian government served as a mediator of the new round of talks this week, after the two sides' initial round of meetings took place in Oslo earlier this month -- an effort designed to break months of stalemate in Venezuela.
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said in a televised address on Monday, "We're going to show our good faith, based on a comprehensive agenda agreed by the parties, in finding peaceful, democratic solutions to Venezuela's crisis."
