TASHKENT, May 30 (Xinhua) -- The citizens of 111 countries from around the world can have residence permits if they buy 400,000 U.S. dollars' worth of property in the Central Asian nation, the Uzbek Justice Ministry said on Thursday.
According to the changes and addenda to the presidential decrees on additional measures for accelerated development of tourism in the country, foreign citizens will have a right to obtain residence permits if they buy not less than 400,000 dollars' worth of property in the capital city Tashkent and surrounding region, according to the document.
However, the price for residence permits will be only half if foreigners buy not less than 200,000 dollars' worth of property in the Samarkand, Bukhara, Namangan, Andijan, Fergana and Khorezm regions.
A property bought for 100,000 dollars in Karakalpakstan and other regions of the country would bestow the same right of a residence permit for foreigners, the document said.
