PARIS, May 30 (Xinhua) -- South Korean midfielder Kwon Chang-hoon scored a crucial equalizer for Dijon in their 1-1 draw at Lens in the first leg of Ligue 1 promotion/relegation playoff on Thursday.

Finishing third from the bottom in Ligue 1 this season, Dijon have to remain their top-flight league status through playoff against Lens, who have got past Paris FC and Troyes for the chance.

Dijon captain Wesley Lautoa had a long-range strike parried away by goalkeeper Jeremy Vachoux as early as one minute into the clash.

After a goalless first-half draw, the hosts went ahead through a counter-attack four minutes into the second half, as Jean-Ricner Bellegarde was relased to speed forward before winning the one-on-one against Dijon goalkeeper Runar Alex Runarsson.

Dijon forward Wesley Said almost leveled the score in the 56th minute, but his strike just bounced off the crossbar.

But Dijon managed an equalizer with nine minutes remaining from Kwon, who latched onto Said's cross and chipped over a pushing Vachoux.

The playoff's second leg will be held in Dijon's home on Sunday.
