PARIS, May 31 (Xinhua) -- Olivier Dall'Oglio has been named new head coach of Brest, the newly-promoted Ligue 1 side announced on Friday.
A club statement said that Dall'Oglio will take charge of the team, which finished second in Ligue 2 earlier this month, for the next two years with an option of contract extension.
Dall'Oglio was sacked by struggling Ligue 1 outfit Dijon at the end of last year after six and a half years at the helm, leaving with the team third from bottom of the table.
He replaces Jean-Marc Furlan, who left Brest for Auxerre at the end of the season.
The club added that Dall'Oglio's main objective will be to avoid relegation from Ligue 1 and consolidate the club's position in France's top flight after six seasons in the second tier.
