BEIJING, June 4 (Xinhua) -- Chinese dance drama "Pingtan Impression" will be staged at the Beijing Tianqiao Performing Arts Center from June 6 to 9.
Directed by renowned Chinese dancer-choreographer Yang Liping, the play tells a legendary love story of how two lovers, one from the island of Pingtan in eastern China's Fujian Province and the other from Pingtanlan, fall in love and fight invaders.
The 120-minute performance features Pingtan's traditional folk culture.
