WELLINGTON, June 6 (Xinhua) -- One of the four people killed in the shooting incident in Australia's Darwin was a New Zealand national, the New Zealand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Thursday.
The Kiwi victim had worked as a security guard at Mindil Beach Casino Resort, according to the local Herald's report.
Resort manager Mark Bennett said in a statement that the man was "a valued member of our security team and we extend out deepest sympathies to his family and friends at this difficult time."
"Aware of the death of a New Zealander in Darwin, and is in contact with local authorities. For privacy reasons no further information will be provided," according to New Zealand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Four people were killed and an injured woman was in stable condition after a mass shooting in Australia's Darwin on Tuesday night.
