JUBA, June 6 (Xinhua) -- South Sudan on Thursday launched a new version of visas with the aim of boosting security and economic growth.
Interior minister Michael Chiengjiek Geay said the department of nationality and immigration will start issuing the more secure visas to foreigners on arrival at the country's port of entries.
The new version has 18 electronic-security features, Geay said, urging law enforcement agencies, particularly immigration officers, to be more vigilant of criminal counterfeit.
Foreign minister Nhial Deng Nhial said the introduction of the new version of visas with additional security features is a big step toward advancing the country's stability and economic growth.
