WINDHOEK, June 13 (Xinhua) -- Namibia will host the 24th meeting of the Regional Adjudication Committee for the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Media Awards competitions from June 17 to 21 in Windhoek.
Namibia's Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, on Thursday said the event will be attended by delegates from the 16 member states and the country's deputy minister of information, Engel Nawatiseb will deliver the key statement.
The annual awards encourage media practitioners in member states to cover issues pertaining to the region for the promotion of regional integration and cooperation.
Furthermore, the SADC Media Awards Adjudication Committee is responsible for the adjudication of the entries for the annual awards which aim to promote regional integration.
Last year the event to search for the top journalists in the SADC region was held in Johannesburg, South Africa.
