BEIJING, June 16 (Xinhua) -- A 7.2-magnitude earthquake rattled the Kermadec Islands, New Zealand, at 6:55 a.m. Sunday (Beijing Time), according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).
The epicenter, which struck at a depth of 20 km, was monitored at 30.80 degrees south latitude and 178.10 degrees west longitude, the CENC said.
