SAO PAULO, June 17 (Xinhua) -- Defender Yerry Mina has moved to tone down the euphoria surrounding Colombia's 2-0 defeat of Argentina, saying his team has bigger goals in mind at the Copa America in Brazil.

The Cafeteros made a perfect start to the continental tournament on Saturday by recording their first win over the Albiceleste since 2007.

"We tried to play our own game," Mina said. "The manager [Carlos Queiroz] was clear, but we have not won anything yet. We are in the fight and ready for what is coming our way," the Everton center-back told reporters.

The former Barcelona player added that the result in Salvador has given the team extra confidence going into Wednesday's fixture against Qatar in Sao Paulo.

"We are taking it step by step with humility because we know that we have to keep working hard," the 24-year-old said. "It's great to feel the confidence of the group and we know that we have to do the same or better next time."

A victory against the Asian Cup champions here would guarantee Queiroz's men a berth in the competition's knockout phase. A loss or a draw would leave the Cafeteros needing to beat Paraguay in the last group match to be assured of a place in the last 16.
