PHNOM PENH, June 19 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia and Singapore held the first political consultations here on Wednesday, discussing ways to further enhance bilateral ties and cooperation, said a Cambodian Foreign Ministry's press release.
The meeting was co-chaired by Cambodian Foreign Ministry Undersecretary of State Tuot Panha and Singapore's Foreign Ministry Deputy Secretary Peter Tan, the release said.
The meeting aimed to promote bilateral cooperation in all fields and to exchange views on regional and international issues for mutual interest, it added.
"Both sides discussed ways to boost bilateral cooperation in politics, security, defense, trade and investment, education and human resources, tourism, culture, labor, health, physical infrastructure connectivity, and institutional connectivity," the release said.
The meeting also put forward some actions to elevate bilateral relationship to a new high, it added.
