LE HAVRE, France, June 20 (Xinhua) -- Defending champions the United States set up a clash with Spain in the final 16 of the FIFA Women's World Cup after they beat Sweden 2-0 in their last group tie on Thursday.
Lindsey Horan netted the fastest goal so far at this tournament when she scored in the third minute.
Five minutes after the break, the American outfit were 2-0 up as Sweden defender Jonna Andersson deflected a shot by Tobin Heath into the goal.
With that own goal, the United States scored 18 goals to break the record for most goals a team scored in Women's World Cup group stage.
The reigning champions, who topped Group F, will face Group B runners-up Spain in the round of 16, and Group F runners-up Sweden will play Group E runners-up Canada.
