BEIRUT, June 23 (Xinhua) -- House Speaker Nabih Berri said Sunday that Lebanon will not accept any deal that aims at selling the Palestinian cause and preventing Palestinians from returning to their land, the National News Agency reported.

"Anyone who dares to think that Lebanon will sell the Palestinian cause in return for billions of dollars to solve the country's economic crisis is wrong," Berri said while adding that the Lebanese and Palestinians will fight against the naturalization of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon.

Berri also called upon Arab countries to act against any attempt to eliminate the Palestinian cause.

The U.S. administration is planning to soon present the peace plan for resolving the conflict in the Middle East.

U.S. President Donald Trump's "Deal of the Century" has already been heavily criticized for the exclusion of a Palestinian state.

The Palestinians have announced that they reject it.

Berri previously called upon Palestinian parties in Lebanon to hold a conference in Beirut to announce a unified stance with regard to the "Deal of the Century."
