HANOI, June 24 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam on Monday launched an e-cabinet system, as Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc chaired the first government meeting using the system.

The efforts were made to build a paperless government and reduct meeting time, Vietnam News Agency reported.

Through the system, all e-documents were sent to cabinet members for them to review before the meeting started. Those who were absent at the meeting could make their vote through mobile devices.

The system is able to update, store and manage documents for government meetings, as well as offering electronic voting with digital signatures. It also sends SMS, emails and notifications to cabinet members.

The Government Office is working toward cutting 30 percent of average meeting time and using 100 percent of e-documents, excluding confidential ones at government meetings by the end of 2019.
