BEIJING, June 26 (Xinhua) -- An epic film in commemoration of the 90th anniversary of the Gutian Meeting and the army led by the Communist Party of China (CPC) will be released on this year's Army Day, which falls on Aug. 1.
Based on events in 1929, the "Bugle From Gutian" reflects the development of the newly born revolutionary troops in southeastern Fujian Province where the meeting was convened, according to director Chen Li.
The Gutian Meeting set the tone for the army's political work during the revolutionary era and established the principle of absolute leadership of the CPC over the army.
The encouraging story showcases the original aspirations and mission of the CPC and the army, according to a seminar on the film held in Beijing Tuesday.
