BEIJING, June 28 (Xinhua) -- "Spirited Away," the 2001 Japanese animated film written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki, continued to top the Chinese mainland box office Thursday, China Movie Data Information Network said Friday.
The Oscar-winning film grossed over 23.98 million yuan (about 3.49 million U.S. dollars), accounting for 28.3 percent of the daily total.
It was followed by "Spider-Man: Far from Home," the latest installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which raked in about 21.75 million yuan in presale.
"Toy Story 4" ranked third with a daily box office of 9.98 million yuan.
"Spirited Away" earned a total box office of 295 million yuan since its June 21 debut on the Chinese mainland.
