URUMQI, June 28 (Xinhua) -- Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has carried out a series of campaigns to clear away the rubbish in the famous scenic spot of Kanas.

A total of seven campaigns have been launched in the tourist attraction this year, with around 2 tonnes of rubbish collected in the forest area, according to the scenic spot management committee.

Meanwhile, the committee has distributed flower and grass seeds to local herders, farmers and operators, who have grown around 50,000 square meters of plants in the scenic spot.

The popular tourist attraction has stepped up efforts to increase the vegetation, improve the ecosystem, build more sewage disposal facilities, and boost eco-tourism in recent years.
