DHAKA, June 28 (Xinhua) -- Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to seek more support from China in the country's economic development, Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen said Friday.

Speaking at a press conference in Dhaka ahead of her official visit to China from July 3 to 5, Momen said, "China is now one of our leading development partners. We hope more Chinese support for Bangladesh following the high profile talks," he said.

Momen, however, said trade, commerce and investment issues will mainly come across the table during high profile talks as Bangladesh is in need of more Chinese support specially for its economic development which has been bolstered by a number of mega Belt and Road Initiative projects in recent years.

During the visit, he said China and Bangladesh will sign several MOUs and agreements on power, tourism, technical cooperation, investment, and cultural exchange.

According to the minister, Hasina will attend the 13th Summer Davos Forum in northeast China's Dalian city before her visit, with globalization in the spotlight.
