TEHRAN, July 3 (Xinhua) -- 18-year-old Iranian striker Allahyar Sayyadmanesh has joined Turkish football club Fenerbahce, the Persian football website reported on Wednesday.
Sayyadmanesh joined the Turkish Super Lig giants from Esteghlal Tehran on July 1, and has signed a contract until the end of the 2023-24 season.
The striker became the youngest Iranian national team debutant at just 17 years old on June 6 against Syria. Having entered the match as a late substitution by new coach Marc Wilmots, Sayyadmanesh crowned his historic debut with his first goal for the national team a few minutes after coming on.
Fenerbahce are one of Turkish football's most successful sides. Located in Istanbul, the club have won 19 Turkish Super Lig titles, six Turkish Cups and nine Turkish Super Cups, and frequently feature in UEFA Champions League and Europa League competitions.
