LISBON, July 3 (Xinhua) -- Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Costa announced here on Wednesday the creation of a reconstruction fund for Mozambique with 1.2 million euros.
"Today the Mozambican reconstruction support fund has been set up" to support the reconstruction of regions affected by cyclones, Costa said at the opening of the Portugal-Mozambique Economic Forum in Lisbon.
The prime minister said that the fund is open to participation by public, private and social entities, with 700,000 euros from the state budget and 500,000 euros from contributions from private contributions.
He added that in addition to the Portuguese fund, there are more funds available to help the reconstruction of Mozambique under the framework of the Portuguese-speaking Countries.
