LONDON, July 3 (Xinhua) -- Third-seeded Karolina Pliskova from the Czech Republic reached third round at Wimbledon, beating gold medalist of the 2016 Olympic Games Monica Puig of Puerto Rico 6-0, 6-4.
After moving past both Zhu Lin and Puig, third-seeded Pliskova will face Hsieh Su-Wei of Chinese Taipei, who beat the former Wimbledon semifinalist Kirsten Flipkens from Belgium 7-6, 6-3.
In the first round at Wimbledon, Hsieh beat the former champion of French Open Jelena Ostapenko from Latvia 6-2, 6-2 in just 67 minutes. Last year, in 3rd round at Wimbledon, Hsieh ended the winning streak of then world No.1 Simona Halep from Romania.
