ISLAMABAD, July 4 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan said on Thursday that Prime Minister Imran Khan is expected to meet U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington on July 22.
"At the invitation of U.S. President Donald Trump, Prime Minister Imran Khan will visit Washington D.C. and hold a meeting with President Trump on July 22, 2019," Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad Faisal told a weekly news conference here.
"The agenda of the meeting is being developed through diplomatic channels. The focus will be to refresh the bilateral relationship," he said.
Local media had reported that the prime minister would be accompanied by a high level delegation including Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
It will be Khan's first visit to the United States since he assumed office in August last year. The two countries have been at odds over anti-terrorism issues.
