LONDON, July 5 (Xinhua) -- Thirteenth-seeded Duan Yingying and Zheng Saisai from China reached the third round of women's doubles at Wimbledon, beating Renata Voracova from Czech Republic and Makoto Ninomiya from Japan 5-7, 6-4, 6-1 on Friday.
The pair stormed into the finals in last month's French Open, when they lost to Kristina Mladenovic from France and Timea Babos from Hungary 6-2, 6-3.
Duan said she texted Zheng before the French Open to compete together in 2019. "We always try to find Chinese partners in 2019. And I felt good since I played the first game of French Open together," Zheng said.
Duan and Zheng made a quick switch from clay court in France to lawn in England. In the first round, Duan and Zheng beat Magdalena Rybarikova from Slovakia and Stefanie Voegele from Switzerland 6-2, 6-3 within 63 minutes.
Duan and Zheng want to go further at All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club this time. "We hope that we can win the most prestigious Grand Slam title one day," Duan said.
