BEIJING, July 6 (Xinhua) -- An original Chinese opera, featuring a guerrilla team in Inner Mongolia fighting against Japanese invaders after 1937, will be staged in Beijing Tianqiao Performing Arts Center on Saturday and Sunday evenings.

The opera, with a title meaning "Beacon Fire on the Green Mountains" in Chinese, tells a story of people from different ethnic groups fighting a guerrilla war against Japanese troops on Daqingshan Mountain in Inner Mongolia led by the Communist Party of China.

Sunday will be the 82nd anniversary of the Lugou Bridge Incident in 1937, also known as the Marco Polo Bridge Incident, which marked the beginning of Japan's full-scale invasion of China.

The opera was created and performed by the China National Opera & Dance Drama Theater and Hohhot National Performing Arts Group and debuted in September last year.
