BAGHDAD, July 6 (Xinhua) -- Three roadside bombs on Saturday hit a convoy of a foreign logistics company near a border town in Iraq's southern city of Basra, a local official said.

The incident took place in the afternoon about two km away from the town of Safwan, when three roadside bombs, planted with 100 meters from each other, detonated near the convey of a logistics company transporting food for diplomatic missions, said Talib al-Husouna, mayor of Safwan.

A non-Iraqi Arab driver of a truck was slightly wounded, while some other vehicles were also slightly damaged in the blasts, al-Husouna added.

Iraqi security forces sealed off the scene and launched an investigation into the incident, he noted.

On June 19 in Basra, a Katyusha rocket landed on a headquarters of the Iraqi Oil Drilling Company near a site hosting several international oil companies, including the U.S. ExxonMobil.
