Zheng Saisai fails to reach 4th round in mixed doubles at Wimbledon

LONDON, July 9 (Xinhua) -- Zheng Saisai from China and Joran Vliegen from Belgium failed to reach 4th round in mixed doubles at Wimbledon on Tuesday, after being beaten by Eden Silva and Evan Hoyt from Britain 7-5, 6-7, 4-6.

In 2nd round, Zheng and Vliegen defeated second-seeded Jean-Julien Rojer and Demi Schuurs from the Netherlands 6-4, 7-5.

"Tennis in China is in a period of rising. I have prepared for the next hard court season," Zheng said.

On super Monday, fourth-seeded Xu Yifan from China and Gabriela Dabrowski from Canada reached the 4th round of the women's doubles, beating 13th-seeded Duan Yingying and Zheng from China 5-7, 6-4, 6-1.

At last month's French Open, Zheng teamed up with Duan in women's doubles for the second time this year. They were defeated in the final by second-seeded Kristina Mladenovic from France and Timea Babos from Hungary 6-2, 6-3. It was Zheng's first final of a Grand Slam.
