VIENTIANE, July 12 (Xinhua) -- Chinese coaches from the Federation Internationale of Volleyball (FIVB) will assist with training Laos men's and women's beach volleyball teams in the country's capital Vientiane in August.
The Lao Volleyball Federation is cooperating with the international body to hold the training sessions at the National University of Laos, the Vientiane Times reported on Friday.
"The federation's coaches will also be able to assist in selecting the most talented players to join the national men's and women's teams in preparation for various future international events," Lao Volleyball Federation member Inthaphone Chengsavang said.
The federation hopes the training sessions will help lift Laos' overall regional ranking in beach volleyball.
In 2016, Lao teams competed in the First Asian Vientiane Under-19 Beach Volleyball Championships in Vientiane, but were unable to progress to the finals.
