YANGON, July 14 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar's trade with foreign countries has reached over 26.58 billion U.S. dollars as of July 5 in current fiscal year 2018-2019, according to the Commerce Ministry Sunday.
From Oct. 1, 2018 to July 5 2019, the country's export earned 11.72 billion U.S. dollars while its import shared 14.86 billion U.S. dollars.
During the period, Myanmar's trade with foreign countries through sea routes reached 19.7 billion U.S. dollars while its border trade amounted to 6.87 billion U.S. dollars.
This year's figures decreased by 74.36 million U.S. dollars, compared to the same period of last FY 2017-2018 when it stayed at 26.66 billion U.S. dollars, according to the ministry.
Myanmar mainly exports agricultural products, animal products, fisheries, minerals and forest products, while importing capital, intermediate and consumer goods.
