BEIJING, July 17 (Xinhua) -- Brazilian Renato Augusto's late winner helped Beijing Guoan mark their 700th game in top flight with a 2-1 home victory over city rivals Beijing Renhe here on Wednesday.
Guoan took a perfect start just 6 minutes into the game. Jin Taiyan swung in a left cross after great teamwork, Wang Ziming continued his recent fearsome form to steer his header into the net.
The home side were dealt a blow in the 23rd minute when midfielder Jonathan Viera limped off and was replaced by Cedric Bakambu. It was reported the Spanish was fractured and would be sidelined for at least 6 weeks.
Renhe levelled the score on the 61st minute with a stroke of luck. Makhete Diop's free kick took a deflection off Chi Zhongguo to wrongfoot Guoan's goalie Zou Dehai.
Guoan restored the lead on the 80th minute when Augusto stepped up to convert a penalty earned by himself. It was his third consecutive game on target.
Guoan continue their dominance on the table with 48 points, 2 ahead of Guangzhou Evergrande and Shanghai SIPG.
