JERUSALEM, July 18 (Xinhua) -- Host team Israel, as well as Germany, Spain and France, secured their spots in the semifinals of FIBA's Under 20 European basketball championship held in the coastal city of Tel Aviv.
Israel, who won the tournament last year in Germany, beat Lithuania 94-78 in the quarterfinals at the drive-in arena in Tel Aviv.
Israel's small forward Raz Adam was the leading scorer with 17 points, with teammate Deni Avdija finishing with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Israel will play in the semifinals on Saturday against France, who defeated Croatia 71-63. Dylan Affo Mama scored 17 points for the winners.
Germany and Spain will meet in the second semifinal game, which will also be held on Saturday.
Germany crushed Britain 81-56, thanks to 22 points scored by Philipp Herkenhoff.
Spain eliminated Turkey with a dramatic 70-69 win. Sergi Martinez Costa of Spain finished with 21 points and 9 rebounds.
