JAKARTA, July 19 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian President Joko Widodo on Friday gave an ultimate order to the national police chief General Tito Karnavian to uncover acid attack case on the country's graft investigator, which occurred two years ago, within 3 months.

Novel Baswedan, an investigator of the country's Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) was assaulted with acid liquid in April 2017 while walking home from a mosque, partly blinding his eyes.

He has undergone multiple surgeries since the acid was flung in his face. Police and fact finding team (TGPF) have carried out investigation on the case.

The TGPF has completed its tasks on July 8, after involving in the investigation for six months. The TGPF has found several clues which will be useful in further efforts to uncover the case, and recommended the police to set up a technical team.

The police well responded on the recommendation and will soon set up a technical team to follow up the new findings of the team.

The shocking attack against the graft investigator has heightened concern about the vulnerability of those attempting to combat endemic corruption in the Southeast Asia's biggest economy.

The KPK has sent scores of high-ranking officials since the last several years, but it does not create deterrent effects as more top officials are arrested in graft case recently.
