TASHKENT, July 20 (Xinhua) -- The board of Uzbekistan's central bank has decided to keep its refinancing rate unchanged at the level of 16 percent annually, the bank said on Saturday.
The decision was based on the need to maintain current monetary policy aimed at curbing inflation and the need to strengthen growth in the share and volumes of banks' long-term savings resources, the regulator said.
Uzbekistan registered 5.8-percent GDP growth in the first half of the year, with a high level of activity observed in the industrial and construction sectors, according to the bank report.
