MADRID, July 24 (Xinhua) -- Spanish Liga Santander champions FC Barcelona on Wednesday confirmed record earnings for the 2018-2019 season.
The club reported that it received earnings of 990 million euros (1,103 million U.S. dollars) - close to the 1 billion euro target set by club President Josep Maria Bartomeu as part of its strategic plan following the elections of 2015.
The results also show that the club had expenses totalling 973 million euros, meaning that Barcelona have made an operating profit for the last eight seasons, with a total profit of 179 million euros for that period.
"We make a very positive valuation of this and the numbers are within the target of having earnings of 1,000 million euros in income before 2021," explained club spokesman Josep Vives. Enditem
