ANKARA, July 25 (Xinhua) -- The Turkish military and the National Intelligence Organization killed two organizers of the assassination attempt against Turkish diplomats in Iraq's northern city of Erbil, local newspaper Daily Sabah reported Thursday.
The two masterminds allegedly belonging to the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) were neutralized in two separate operations on July 18 and July 24, Daily Sabah said.
During the second operation, Turkish security forces hit a vehicle carrying the mastermind and his guards.
On July 17, a Turkish diplomat was killed in a shooting inside a restaurant in Erbil and all attackers escaped.
According to local media, the security authorities in Iraq's Kurdistan region arrested one assassin in Erbil on Saturday.
